As the year 2020 closed, the virtual pet category remained a beloved niche for Android users in the United States. Sensor Tower's data gives us a glimpse into the performance of the top five virtual pet apps, which have entertained and engaged users throughout the fourth quarter.

My Talking Tom Friends, released by Outfit7 Limited, showed a steady increase in revenue, peaking at nearly $5.6K in the final weeks of November before dipping slightly to close the quarter at around $4.3K. Downloads saw a high in late November with over 106K new installs, and weekly active users hit a peak of over 1M in the last week of December.

Outfit7 Limited's My Talking Tom 2 also experienced a revenue spike in mid-December, reaching over $11K, while downloads surged to over 96K in the final week of the year. The app maintained a strong base of active users, with numbers hovering around 640K at the start of the quarter and rising to over 716K by year's end.

TutoTOONS's Kpopsies - Hatch Baby Unicorns, though not generating significant revenue, saw an impressive climb in downloads, from around 24K in the first week of October to over 73K the following week. The app's active users peaked in early November at over 140K but later settled to nearly 79K by the end of December.

Another popular app by Outfit7 Limited, My Talking Angela, showed consistent revenue throughout the quarter, with noticeable increases towards the end, reaching over $4.8K in the last week of December. Downloads and active users both saw their peaks in the same week, with approximately 55K downloads and over 483K active users.

Lastly, My Talking Tom from Outfit7 Limited displayed a modest revenue growth, ending the quarter with over $1.6K. Downloads showed an upward trend, culminating at over 41K in the final week, and weekly active users saw a year-end high of over 263K.
